My son has always suffered from chronic blepharitis, which is sometimes worse that others. It doesn't cause him any real problems, but his eyes are sometimes quite red-rimmed and sore looking. The doctor once suggested using a small amount of baby shampoo with warm water on a cotton bud to clear the crusts. This did seem to work better than anything else, and did not sting at all. Sorry I can't be of more help. I don't think he has it very severely (thank goodness).

dh has chronic blepharitis too and the baby shampoo does work but feel sorry for him, he has a permanent red eye and needs to wash it out a few times a day. Seen countless specilaists bt no joy.

you need to religously bathe the eyes twice a day in a solution of 9 parts water and 1 part Baby Shampoo.
