lilibet · 17/09/2003 12:44

As the other thread seemsto have died, I thought that unless you are all super slim stick insects we could do with a bit of a fresh start. I managed to stay the same while I was away and have maintained since, and I now need encouragement to go with it again. I am trying for a stone before Christmas. so, where are you Girly, Kayleigh, Deegward, Kid, Crunchie, Lambchop,Furball, Boe and all the rest, Help me!!!

I need to lose a stone and would like to try slimming world BUT really really hate going to class type things. Can you just go once, join and get all the details or do they drip feed it weekly. Have got gist from threads here and their website but need more info on healthy choices and sin values. Or is there a book you can buy? thanks

Girly · 24/09/2003 19:10

Not hiding, just not losing anymore yet, which is frustrating. The big mistake I think I am making is not counting the sins, I do not have that many, am quite good really which is why the scales are not going up, so am going to TRY and stop mucking about and do it properly, but sometimes its just soooo hard.

Miggy, you can go just once to get the books, and you can buy the magazine in the shops, they are good for ideas and letting you know the sin value of new stuff in the shops. Altho it does make you stick to it more if you keep going to class.

She says, not having been to class for 3 weeks

lilibet · 24/09/2003 19:42

Miggy, I don't go to class. Monday football training, Tuesday football match, Wednesday no sitter, Thursday Football match, Friday no class near me. What I did was get the gist of it from mumsnet (and if you read the other thread there are some great ideas), go on the Sw website and have a look, buy the magazines, and then I went on Ebay and put slimming world as a search and got the starters kit from there for £6. It does work if you count your sins, but as you will have seen from my earlier postings I'm slipping a bit. Started writing everything down with sin values so that I can keep a better check on myself now. Good luck Miggy!

come on Crunchie, 'fess up! How did it go?

OP posts:
lilibet · 24/09/2003 19:46

I should be thin with all that football, shouldn't I?

OP posts:
Crunchie · 25/09/2003 09:37

I am really hacked off. I din't lose a thing. Yet I know on my scales at home I had lost the 2lbs I said I would. I have tried to work out if I ate any more than ususal, or didn't wee enough before the class, or even wore different stuff! I know that I have lost the weight so there

Tonight is going to be hard as I am out at Tim's first night of a new show - there is always a party afterwards so I will try to be good, or at least coat the sins and not drink (HAHAHA)

If I am good and stick to it, I will lose this last 1/2 stone. Please make sure I stick to it this week and nag me, as it would be so easy to say sod it!!!!

Lambchops · 25/09/2003 09:42

Oh dear. I pledged 2lb for last night and lost.......nothing. However, at least I didn't put anything on.....weight, I mean. Anyway back on the straight and narrow now.

lilibet · 25/09/2003 12:11

Never mind crunchie, it will show next week. I can nag sooooo well, I just ignore myself. I have had a whole good day yesterday, which for me is pretty good. Even got the fat wobbling a bit by doing some step.
Crunchie, can you not volunteer to drive tonight, drinking diet coke and bitter lemons all night always helps me keep control over my nibbling urges - does make it a crap night tho!!

OP posts:
Crunchie · 25/09/2003 14:12

Thanks lilibet, you are right I could volunteer to drive, but I don't like diet coke and the soft drink situation is always crap at these things!! My solution is to buy a pack of fags and smoke the lot!! I am a non-smoker usually, but I like the odd one or two when I go out, so I'll smoke to avoid eating

winnie1 · 26/09/2003 08:46

Well, I lost 4lbs this week so am feeling pleased with myself (but not too pleased as I have wasted the entire summer and not lost any weight for weeks & this week proves what we all know that Slimming World does work but one has to stick to it). Hopefully this will spur me on as I feel that I have eaten a lot but know I have stuck rigidly to the programme.

Crunchie, I too am sure your weight loss will show next week but know I too would be peeved.
How is it going for everyone else? Hope you've all had a better few days.

lilibet · 26/09/2003 12:15

4lb!!!!!!!
Wow, I am so impressed. I have lost zilch, zero, nothing, nil. Yet another new start is needed, And I will loose 2lb by next Friday.

OP posts:
Crunchie · 26/09/2003 18:26

Well did I drink nothing and smoke!!! Did I hell!

I drnak 2 glasses of wine - good start, smoked loads - that's OK, but also ate loads - oops!!

And today I had that tiredness type of hangover that can only be cures by eating bread!! Oops again!

Tomorrow I'm out to lunch with my parents, I just hope we can go italian and I can choose pasta with tomato sauce and try to recify the damage.

kid · 30/09/2003 21:12

Where is everybody?
I stuck to slimming world pretty well last week, didn't starve myself, even had a cake (or two!) and when I weighed myself, I have lost........
4lb. I was so pleased and it has given me some extra will power to stick with it. I originally started this diet when DS was born, that was 18 months ago and I am still the same weight as I was then! Maybe this time I really will go for it

lilibet · 30/09/2003 23:35

Well done! Was wondering why this thread was so quiet, I am holding my breath for a loss this week, if I mange it, it will be my first loss in 4 weeks, but this week I am trying oh so hard. Which I cant honestly say I have in the recent past. What have you been eating?

OP posts:
Crunchie · 30/09/2003 23:56

Wewll my weigh in is tomorrow pm, so I am already planningm outfit, as light as possible without it looking liking I am wearing a summer dress!!

I will not have stayed the same again, O was sooooooo hacked off last wednesday, as I had stuck to the plan and been good! This week has been a bit hit and miss, but the scales say 3lbs over the past 2 weeks so if her scales say a couple of lbs off I'll be happy!

forestfly · 01/10/2003 00:05

Crunchie im not part of this thread but i weigh myself in boots every week and was wondering how bad id look if i stripped off just to have lost a pound

winnie1 · 01/10/2003 10:39

Well done kid! I lost four pounds last week and although I shouldn't weigh myself before Friday as that is weigh in day I've weighed myself today and lost another 3lb (with 2 days to go ... yipeee). 7lb in less than two weeks is a good restart and other than the effort involved in keeping sin free foods available I don't feel as if I am on a diet. I KNOW the weight loss will not/can not continue at this rate but it does give one a boost. Now I have to remember 1lb a week is 52lbs a year. It is such a relatively short space of time to get the body one wants IYKWIM. Fingers crossed for everybody at your weigh ins.

lilibet · 01/10/2003 12:08

Winnie - you are doing so well, how much do you have to loose in total? if anyone is on line now I need a quick bit of advice. Going out for lunch at 1 with dp's mum and the choices are bagels, toasties or sandwiches with fillings of apple and stilton, smoked salmon and cream cheese, ploughmans, cheeses salad, cheese and onion, tuna mayo or cream cheeses salad. Which combo am I best going for on green? Quick!!

OP posts:
Girly · 01/10/2003 12:26

Lilibet, I would say cheese salad or cheese and onion and have it toasted! Was quite quick i thought

lilibet · 01/10/2003 12:33

Very quick, thank you!!

OP posts:
winnie1 · 01/10/2003 14:03

lilibet, I have loads of weight to loose. We are talking stones rather than pounds

lilibet · 01/10/2003 15:55

I do wonder why we don't put our weights on here? Everything else is annonymous, is it that our weight is the most secret thing about us? Its the only thing that my dp doesn't know about me. Anyhow although its not my weigh in today either, I had this morning lost a pound, which makes me something stones 13lbs. Which is a lot better than something stones. In my dream world I still have another 1 stone 13lb to loose, in reality I will be happy with half a stone before Christmas!! the thing that has imprseed me about SW is that I haven't put any of the weight back on that I origianlly lost, although it is only 7lb its off and its stayed off. I have done every diet in the world adn its alwys coem back on. So I am heading in the right direction very very slowly and staying in that direction.

Are we going to be brave and put our weights on?

OP posts:
Crunchie · 02/10/2003 09:49

Woo hoo!! I lost 3lbs!!!!!

I am so happy particularly as last week I had lost nothing (her scales must have been broken!) so now I am 1lb away from being within target range. (3lbs over or under target). So I will post my weight lillibet, I am now 10 stone 4lbs, target is 10 stone. I am not a skinny binny, I am only 5'3" but 10st dead leaves me being able to buy size 12 clothes anywhere I like, and means I can feel thin!!

winnie1 · 02/10/2003 11:59

Well done Crunchie!

One day I will be 10 stone (she writes wistfully).

Lilibet, it is weird but I can't post my weight (far too ashamed). Suffice to say I have around five stone to loose

lilibet · 02/10/2003 12:09

Well done!

Ok, I am 10 stone 13, and 5 ft5, and at the moment need a size 14, which is tight but I refuse to move up to a 16. None of my size 14's jeans will come anywhere near me, so I must be a very different build to you crunchie, as I am taller but would need to be about 9 1/2 stone to get into a 12's comfortably. I would like to be 9stone, but that is probaly a pipe dream - I shall see how I go and how I look. I am probably remembering the days of 8 stone far too fondly. You need a bit more weight as you get older, says she hopefully.

OP posts:
Crunchie · 02/10/2003 14:49

Thanks guys, I know I weigh very heavy (if that makes sense) However I do remember being 8 1/2 stone and being a size 10, but that was then....

When I get down to much lower than 10 stone I just cannot maintain it, and at 9 1/2 stone I only just start getting into size 10's so what is the point!
