DD RED AND ITCHY VAGINA,WORRIED.

have name changed,dd asked me to look at her vagina, slightly swollen and itchy. not sure if im over reacting but dh let her share a bed with her 16 year old cousin whilst i was away.where do i start in finding out if anything went on shes 6.

That seems like a huge leap. I would have assumed thrush (which is not necessarily sexually transmitted BTW). I admit I find the sleeping arrangement unusual, but do you have any other reason to be concerned? Have you tried asking your DD an open question about why she thinks it may have become sore?

i know its a huge leap,trying to think how i can ask her without her becomming alarmed. also dont want to cause any trouble if it is just thrush. have had a talk with dh about sleeping arrangements and he just went quiet,he knows it was a bad call.he doesnt know about the rash yet.
dont want to be alarmist but then dont want to let it pass incase anything did happen.

it does sound like thrush

i wouldn't ask her anything. i would take her to the GP who will be able to confirm whether or not it is thrush, and if you can speak to the GP privately beforehand you could explain your concerns maybe??

Can you ask your DD if she's been rinsing herself properly in the shower or whether she's been wearing knickers under her trousers?
