Bad vaccination reaction

DD is 14 weeks old and has just had her second lot of vaccinations. She had what I think is a bad reaction - very swollen legs, some facial swelling, slight fever and very very unhappy for 36 hours. I'm reluctant for her to have the third lot as feel any further reaction may be more severe. How vital are the third lot? Has anyone else had a similar experience?

hi, i haven't had a similar experiance but i would definaltely do some research and talk to Doctor re her bad reactions! I am sure others will reply but i think it's more important to find out about why she reacted so badly and waiting for her third set shouldn't hurt her. Good luck!

My ds had a bad reaction to the 2nd lot of vacs too, he was the same age as your dd MaggieW. He had a high temp, was floppy and his temp could not be controlled by meds, he was hospitalised for 2 days until his temp could be brought under control. The A&E doc said it was probablt a reaction and to monitor the next set closeley, but lucklily he was fine with the third set.

AFAIK you can't get thimerosil free DT unfortunately. P is notorious for reactions - although more like girly's description. That was one reason aP was introduced- although I think we're back on wP now. (And aP was still causing reactions anyway)
