DS1 (4) is very impressed with his willy. He wants to pull the foreskin back and look at his glans. Which is fine, really, it's his willy. It just looks like it really hurts to do that! He's always been quite rough with his bits.

(I'm taking the line: that's something you play with on your own, which seems to be going down ok. I don't want to say it's wrong, obviously.)

Does anyone else's son do this? Is there any risk of him hurting himself this way?

My boys played with their willy a bit, one more than the other. I turned a blind eye until we were in town one day and he had pulled it out of the leg of his shorts and was playing with it! I told him it was fine to play with it but not in company or in public and he was fine with that. He's 11 now and although I'm sure he still plays with it I've not seen him!
I don't think he will hurt himself, I'm sure if it hurts he will stop.

I'm sure you're right, about the him not actually hurting himself.

I've only told him to do it in private because I don't want to squeal at him whenever he pulls at it hard, IYSWIM. It makes my eyes water seeing what he does! And DH feels worse, obviously.
