Pain in bones and joints

Hi, my DD is 10 months old and has been EBF still going.

Since the last 2 months, my bones really hurt. It started with my fingers, but now its spread to my toes, elbows, knees ect. Infact all the bones and joints ache.

I'm concerned it may be due to the breastfeeding and hence a possible defiecency now.

Has anyone else experianced this before and what was the reason?

I will go to my GP too.

I did experience something similar when DD was 6mo and EPF. In my case, it was associated with crippling tiredness/"spaciness" and I was diagnosed with an extremely underactive thyroid. This can be triggered by pregnany.

I have since also been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis.

Sorry, both quite "serious" diagnoses and I don't want to scare you. Though if you were going to route for one I'd go for the thyroid Wink Grin

AFAIK I don't think EBF should cause such extreme pain. However I think that it may possibly have an effect on the relaxin hormone (produced in pregnancy) which might affect your joints? Is your diet good? Vits & calcium etc?

Definitely get to GP and possibly some blood tests.

Sorry, that was a rubbish post! Must go to bed. Blush

What I was trying to say was that there are clinical possibilities for what you describe but it may also be hormonal etc. It makes sense to go to the GP but you shouldn't worry.

Hope you get it sorted soon Smile
