DH's nads after vasectomy

Hi all,

My husband had a vasectomy on Friday and I was all prepared to give him the 'I've given birth twice, stop being a wimp' line but I actually feel very sorry for him! His testicles, penis and surrounding pubic area are absolutely black and very swollen and he's still walking around like John Wayne after 4 days.

Is that much bruising normal? I'm sure the Dr didn't mention such bad bruising!

I dont know much about Vasectomy, but I have heard bruising is common. In another week or so he should be feeling and looking a lot better. Its only Tuesday after all.

I always find it takes about 2 weeks for bruising and operation site to settle down and one starts to feel a bit more your old self again.
Rest and get his feet up will help.
Pain relief, warm salt baths (not hot), and a cool pack on sore area may help.

Agree with Skifit. DH was in some discomfort for around 2 weeks, and definitely had a lot of bruising and swelling. A year on, he has no long term side effects.

Thank you, I'll pass the tips on to him.
