Gum boil/abcess?

Hi, i went to the dentist a few weeks ago with what i thought was an abcess, dentist gave me antibiotics and booked me into hospital (for april) to have the tooth removed and bone scraped, a week later and it was still there so i went back to the dentist, he refussed to treat with more antibiotics and said 'it looked slightly better, just use mouthwash to stop infection until i have it removed', anyway it has now got bigger but it is not painful at all (not like an abcess). I have just googled and it looks like it may be a boil. Is there anything i can teat it with? should i go back to the dentist or is there nothing i can do until the tooth has been removed?

I sent you a pm about 4 hours ago. Did it arrive?

Clove oil on cotton wool will stop it hurting and is antiseptic. I would call the dentist in the morning and ask him to check what's going on in there.

Thanks Grumpy (have just got your pm and have replied).

It does'nt hurt at all, it seems to grow when i eat (as i get food stuck in the damaged tooth), i'm worried it might get bigger or infected. My dentist i'nt great Sad, his english is not great (i can't understand what he is saying) Grin, i might have to try and find another dentist (but NHS dentists are hard to come by). I saw an out of hours dentist at christmas who told me that it should be a simple job to remove the tooth (same tooth).
