Gum boil/abcess?

Hi, i went to the dentist a few weeks ago with what i thought was an abcess, dentist gave me antibiotics and booked me into hospital (for april) to have the tooth removed and bone scraped, a week later and it was still there so i went back to the dentist, he refussed to treat with more antibiotics and said 'it looked slightly better, just use mouthwash to stop infection until i have it removed', anyway it has now got bigger but it is not painful at all (not like an abcess). I have just googled and it looks like it may be a boil. Is there anything i can teat it with? should i go back to the dentist or is there nothing i can do until the tooth has been removed?

Clove oil on cotton wool will stop it hurting and is antiseptic. I would call the dentist in the morning and ask him to check what's going on in there.

It does'nt hurt at all, it seems to grow when i eat (as i get food stuck in the damaged tooth), i'm worried it might get bigger or infected. My dentist i'nt great , his english is not great (i can't understand what he is saying) , i might have to try and find another dentist (but NHS dentists are hard to come by). I saw an out of hours dentist at christmas who told me that it should be a simple job to remove the tooth (same tooth).
