Toothache - Pain relief help!

I have awful toothache, it seems to be from where a crown was put back in last week, though all the nerves along there are jangling,
it's hard to tell. Sad

I have been up all night, and have managed to get in to the dentist at 3 if no other emergencies come up, or to take my kids check up appointments at 4 if someone else worse calls them. Confused

I took ibuprofen at 7, it's barely touched it. I found some co-codamol in the medicine cabinet, but can I take them now or do I have to wait a bit?

At least I have an excuse for being short tempered with the kids today.

there is some wonderful ointment you can get from the chemist can't remember it's name sorry something really obvious, comes in a small mainly yellow box only small. Go to the chemist or ring them first they will know it.

You can take co-codamol and ibuprofen at the same time.

You can also take a lot more ibuprofen than it says on the packet (though I am not a doc I am married to one and he has advised this to me). As long as you dont go over 2400 mg a day, you can take 600mg at a time.

I am a wimp, I can't remember the last time I had toothache, it's totally taken over.

Oil of cloves, about £1 from the chemist. Dip a cotton bud into the bottle and then roll the bud around the tooth area.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the advice.

Dentist says I have an infection in the rooy cavity and I am now on mega antibiotics and have to have it out once the infection is cleared.
