Bananas can make babies really constipated (sorry if you already knew that). I would say lots of fruit and water along with milk until things improve a bit. We soak prunes overnight and add them to stuff to help ds when he has needed it.

How long since the last poo?

gosh beansprout, i just picked him up from nursery and they recommended gripe water, prune juice, or.....bananas!
he had a hard pooh that he couldn't get out at lunchtime (i had to help, hope thats not too much info!!!!!)
but he was the same yesterday, straining and straining.... poor thing
will try soaking some prunes and chopping them up i think

They do like straining at that age. Ds looked like he was about to explode but it always managed to come out in the end. Passing solid poo is still a new experience for them and they don't necessarily need to poo every day. Lots of fluids should help.

Funny that the nursery recommended bananas!!

Good luck

1 part apple juice or prune juice, 3 parts water
