Anyone had a Bartholin Gland Removed?

I've been troubled for years with bartholin cysts - normally I can catch them in advance and a good dose of antibiotics sort it out.
Have had 1 lanced, 1 marzupilsation and one burst when I was in hospital waiting for surgery.

Im currently struggling again - doc referred me to gynae at hospital and he wants me to sit it out til Mon on high dosage antibitics and see if the cyst turns into an absess.
I personally think that this will not help now and I will be back Monday for surgery.

So, has anyone had a bartholin gland removed? I am thinking about asking for this to be done, but wondered about surgery,recovery time, post surgery sex and I guess if you are disfigured afterwards?

I really feel for you, I had one swell up massively a few years ago and I have NEVER felt pain like it before or since (including labour). The memory of the relief I felt when I woke up after surgery is still very clear.
