Bit TMI - discharge

I use Evra patches for contraception. Period was 3 weeks ago.

the last 3 days I've had long black stringy discharge, sometimes with a bit of mucus too. It's not like spotting, it doesn't mark my knickers at all but when I wipe it's on the paper and I can pull out these strings. No pain or anything like that.

Any ideas?

Hopeful bump. Anyone?

at a certain time of the month ,normally around day 14 which is about right with you having a period 3 weeks ago,you get the release of a mucus plug from the cervical osn, which is more viscous than normal. I believe it is when there is more progesterone released. The mucousy plug is released to allow easier fertilisation. If you think yours is abnormal go to the docs though

Thanks Aly, does that apply even tho I'm using hormonal contraception?

I don't recall ever having this before :/

I'd go to the doctors and get checked out. Could be a normal cycle thing but I'd still get it looked at.

have a read of this www.tbtam.com/2010/11/cervical-mucus-hormonal-contraception-underappreciated-effect.html it may help to explain.

Thanks both of you

That link was helpful but the thing is that my stringy discharge is dark brown Confused I think I'll see my gp if it doesn't stop this week.
