Please help - run down due to stress?

This is quite vague, but I would appreciate any help/experience of anybody with similar problems. I think its fair to say that I've been under a bit of stress the past few months (or years!) I've got a very stressful job (which I love) but which is very tiring and involves long hours. I moved a couple of times recently in a short time frame, and I've had some quite serious issues in my marriage. I'm one of those people who hate to admit defeat, but I think I have to admit that I'm a bit run down.

I do look after myself a bit - I work out daily, don't smoke and TRY to eat healthily (not overweight, size 8 - 10). I do enjoy the odd drink but thats my main vice. So, even though I'm not superfit, I not a complete mess! However, I seem to be experiencing lots of nagging problems - I suffer IBS and this seems to be constantly flaring up despite doing the things I normally do to keep it under control. I am suffering from dry skin all over and even though I sleep well at night, I seem to be falling asleep in the evening at the drop of a hat, and wake up about an hour later feeling even worse. I also seem to be constantly craving sweet foods, I've always had a sweet tooth, but this is to the extent that even if I'm not hungry, I'm reaching for handfuls of breakfast cereal from the cupboard.

I've developed dark circles under my eyes and have absolutely no sex drive whatsover (I know this could be related to the problems I mentioned, but I just don't feel any kind of sex drive at all.) I keep getting thrush and I generally feel like shit!

I don't know where to start to try and make myself feel better. Help!

Hi TW

See your doc for a blood test, sounds like you could be anaemic. You'd be amazed how generally grotty it can make you feel.
