Hi,

I've made an appointment to see my GP, but they cannot see me before the 28th, so I was wondering if someone could suggest if I need to go to the local hospital to get myself checked out.

I've been highly stressed lately with a number of things both at work and in my personal life - so it may just be down to that, but have also recently had a friend pass away due to a heart attack, so I'm kind of nervous about my symptoms (and googling symptoms is fatal as it may as well just come up with a big box that says you're going to die)

I was sitting at my desk yesterday and suddenly my heart just started pounding, I lost all my periferal vision, then what vision I had left went all blurry and slightly warped. I then got tinges up and down my left arm which lasted for about 30 seconds (kind of the feeling you get when you hit your funny bone) the whole thing probably lasted about 5 minutes in all, and I felt relatively fine afterwards.

Recently I've had a couple of dizzy spells, and I do find for no reason my heart just starts beating like mad, but only for a couple of minutes and then settles down.

Is this something I should worry about, or just put it down to stress?

Thanks Realrabbit - I've had panic attacks before (many many years ago) but this just scared me a bit, I know our local hospital has a walk in surgery so if I cannot get an emergency appointment I will go there at the weekend.

Thanks for your reply, I've been at a bit of a loss as to who to speak to about it.
