this question follows on from a previous thread i posted about some grey/ beige staining on DS (3yrs old) bottom teeth. dentist thought it was due to food discolouration or antibiotics.

some US websites mention cleaning toddler teeth discolouration with 'baking soda'- is this bicarbonate of soda?

Has anyone done this? Is it okay to do this, just for a few days to see if it gets rid of stains?

Any advice welcomed, espec from a dentist or hygienest.

Thanks!

I just tried to get my 8 year old son to brush his not so sparklypegs with bicarb of soda. He wasnt impressed, it tastes disgusting

I am not dental professional but....I can't imagine it would be too much of a problem - many toothpastes have bicarb/baking soda as an ingredient

or maybe you could try one of these toothpastes rather than just bicarb
e.g. Arm&Hammer toothpaste

Wouldn't it be very abrasive to the enamel?
