I have about 4 and can't eat anything, I have been using bonjela but it's rubbish.

Anyone used something that works?

Ouch!
Swishing your mouth with hottish salt water works well.

You must be very run down to have so many, try and take some Vit C to bump up your immune system too.

Hope they go soon.

anbesol liquid is great, also the bonjela one, costs about £6 but really works (after stinging badly) start taking a b12 suppliment, it wont clear ir up but will help keep them away, i had severe ones as a child and now take b12 and never get them

I use igloo. It covers the ulcer protecting it.

Sorry to hear it. I can't recommend an instant help, but my DD has always suffered with them. Someone on here advising changing her toothpaste to an AloeDent (or something like that) and she hasn't had a single one since.

Only thing is, you compromise on fluoride, so your dentist won't be happy, but it seems to have helped her a lot.

Memphis - interesting re the B12....

valleyqueen · 16/02/2011 20:11

This is the first time I had them, I am very stressed right now so not sure if that may be the cause. I will get myself down to boots in the morning.

I am living on yoghurt and i am starving.

Adcortyl in oralbase. Not really a pain reliever but helps them go. And when they are really bad a fingertipful of salt directly on it

Hi ValleyQ

I suffer with Ulcers from time to time and stress can play a big part of them ,

I gargle with warm salt walter , then use something called "Iglu" its a tube , white pasty stuff , which you put over the ulcer and it stays in place for hours so the ulcer can heal , its great and within 2 days mine had gone ...along with gargling in salty walter .

bongela is rubbish as slips off .

hope this helps you as they can be a real pain ..

valleyqueen · 16/02/2011 21:04

I have just rinsed my mouth with salt water. Ouch :)

i have just resorted to calpol 6+ as it's the only pain killer in the house. Time to restock the medicine cabinet.

I second Bumperlicious on the Adcortyl, only thing that actually seems to get rid of them quicker. It works best when you start using it at the first sign though, so you might be a bit late for yours (though should still help) but then you will have some for next time!

Milliways · 17/02/2011 18:30

Adcortyl has been discontinued in Orabase now :( (I was gutted - it was the only thing that worked.)

Some people like Corlann pellets, and other crush them into igloo to strengthen the dose.

Bumperlicious · 17/02/2011 20:34

Nooo! What else will work?
