Cereal is a high cal breakfast too, but if you eat higher cals/carbs early in the day, you'll have more chance to burn them off.

Grilled bacon, baked beans (small portion as they are loaded with salt and sugar) and scrambled egg?

No toast.

Or grilled tomatoes on a medium slice of wholemeal toast? Flora rather than butter too. Or Clover?

Toasted Pita filled with salad and lean meat/meat alternative is good for lunch.

Soups too, nice and filling.

Smoothies are good for breakfast but no with solid food IYSWIM?

Banana's? High in protein and will burn off slowly.

Eggs
Porridge
Beans on toast.

You feel like you are having a blowout just because you are having a hot breakfast. Smile

Ice lollies are good for a guilt free sugar hit.

Eat the foods you enjoy but 'skinny' them. I Love thinking of ways to do this so if you want any favourite meals downsized, let me know Smile That goes for the rest of you too!

On the boredom front, one of us is always here so you can come chat to us Smile

No more snacking, come and tell us about your little chap xx

Oh yes, Bitter is ace, ask her about kebabs Grin

I always buy half fat/low fat everything. Ketchup is reduced salt and sugar, as is salad cream, mayo, low sugar beans and soup etc.

If you shop more carefully, you can cut the calories without really trying.

Just ask and we'll all help you as much as we can Smile

Ooh, Mouse did you try my Kebabs?

JJ, if you are having soup for lunch I would have a more substantial breakfast or you will feel you are on a liquid diet!

Do you have a slowcooker? If not get one, they are only about 12 quid and will change your life Grin

I don't actually believe in low fat/half fat processed stuff. Full of chemicals and you don't get the flavour. If something isn't meant to be low fat, don't kid yourself that it's not a treat and you can have a 'diet' version.

Have the real thing and just work it into your calories for the day.

I know that sounds totally contradictary but there is a difference between getting rid of empty calories from a meal and it still hitting the spot, and having a couple of ww cake slices and believing they are healthy. Have a slice of cake, you know it is bad for you so you will eat a smaller portion.

Bitter - I did, they we're sexual Wink

See I'm the same with processed foods, don't buy them. I buy real ham and slice it, from the deli or cook it myself, same with chicken, I buy fresh and cook it here so I know what's in it.

I have full fat cheese, just grate it instead of slicing it into door wedges Grin

It's about total cals and carbs consumed in a day.

Semi skimmed milk is okay but low fat yogs tend to have a higher sugar content to compensate and to make them taste of something.

Bitter is right, I wasn't very clear, processed foods that are low fat etc, are often full of salt/sugar/chemicals to make them taste of something.

Lean, fresh meats are much better xx

Mouseface · 16/02/2011 20:10

Few, that's better. Now you can all see me again Smile

Tesco do a really nice sushi range if you are out and about JJ. About 200cals-ish? and very filling.

Rice cakes? I love rice cakes with a shmear of butter and some nice ham. Jacket potatoes are good and filling, you already said you like soup, cous cous or pasta salad, Pita filled with protein, you can make a kind of oatbran pancake with sweetener which is nice.

Sorry, these are just off the top of my head.

Yay for real butter - anything else is wrong.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 16/02/2011 20:32

Mouse is indeed gorgeous, she is our thread fox, along with Double, SAF, TC, Brian, UNO and now you. Smile

'Fake' Kebabs. (Not really kebabs but hit the spot the same way if you have a craving)

Falafel - you can buy them ready made, cauldron is a good brand

Serve in toasted pitta with yoghurt, mint and lots of raw onion. LUSH. Smile

Sorry for the long complicated recipe Grin

I love the piccy of you with your hubby, do you have short hair there?

Very pretty face.

I'm fit to pop with chicken, watercress and mushroom pasta.

Grin

I still haven't done the online shop..... feck.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 16/02/2011 20:39

I made my own sushi once.

It was breeding I swear, by the end of it I had enough to feed an army or greedy DH. And delicate it wasn't, they were the size of house bricks! Grin

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 16/02/2011 20:40

Arse! I've not done the shop either Blush
