I stopped taking cerazette in November after feeling rubbish all the time, but i've not had a period since. I've taken 4 pregnancy tests (all negative). Anyone else had this?? Can I start taking another contaceptive ? Thanks in advance this has been the pill from hell! :(

Hey SB, I did a 3 month trial of Cerazette in October. I had awful mood swings, to the point i felt depressed. However, the first month I took it, I had my usual cycle of 27 days, then I had a 14 day period (not much lighter than my contraceptive free ones), then a break of 2 weeks, then another 2 week period.

This went on and on, needless to say I came off it after the 3 month trial. I am pleased I gave it ago, it just didn't suit me.

My GP has put me back on mircogynon (my old pill pre DC) and it is great. However, I won't be able to stay on it for long as I am now 38.

I just stopped Cerazette one day and started taking mircogynon the next, had a bit of spotting, but nothing I couldn't handle.

I would recommend you back to your GP. I guess it also depends on why you are taking cerazette, mine isn't for contraceptive reasons, but because of nightmare heavy peri-menopausal periods.

Sorry can't answer the OP's query but just wanted to point out that age isn't a barrier to the combined pill these days, you can remain on it 'till 50; it just depends on health factors like high blood pressure/migraines which is why I came off Microgynon at 40. I am very happily on Cerazette btw but it seems to effect people very differently..

Yup tis normal. when I stopped it I didn't get my period back for about 8 months.

Was it abnormally heavy or just a normal period? (sorry for the TMI question but need to know these things lol)

I always have heavy periods, and that one didn't seem much heavier, although it was very painful.
