Recent Coil fitted

I was interested to see that in answer to a question about feeling generally tired and "crampy" a poster asked about having a coil fitted recently.

I feel like a novice teenager and at the age of 35 should know better!! But does having a coil fitted make you feel "crampy" on and off for a good few weeks after having one fitted? That's how I've felt and I can cope, it isn't terrible by any stretch - it certainly beats a "surprise" at the moment! (mum of three boys!)

Thanks for any experience on the subject!

Yes. I had minerva coil fitted last year. Uncomfortable for quite a few weeks on and off, had sharp period like cramps, bloated tummy at times, spotting randomly then a few long bleeds over the first 3 months (at which point I was thinking "Goodness what have I done?"..)

But then.. tra... la...la... It all went. Bliss. The first three months were worth it.
Very light and rare periods now. No surprise babies. Genius!

God bless the coil.
