I have chicken pox.
The spots started coming out on Tuesday night and now I'm covered. They are everywhere.
Everything hurts and I feel absolutely shit.

Any advice?

Oh no.
I don't know if your GP might prescribe anti virals, it might be a bit late to have much effect but do ring and ask asap.

Good luck.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 10/02/2011 17:08

not nice :( hope you feel better soon, as Ingrid says may be worth talking to your gp.

SparkleRainbow · 10/02/2011 17:13

Think it is too late now for anti-virals, they only work if taken in the first few hours, and then they only shorten the length of the recovery, but I could be wrong so worth a check.

Sorry you feel so shit, it is a bugger to get this. Keep up your fluids, lower your temperature with pain killers, rest lots, camomile lotion is recommended for easing the rash, I found it better for the first few days, then it tightened my skin and i felt worse, so I moved to E45 bath oil, you put a few drops in the bath, and I found it really soothing, but it makes the bath really slippy, so you need someone to help you out or else you will be heading to casualty, and that will not make you better at all. After that it is jut waiting it out I'm afraid, and watching loads of crappy tv. Hope you feel better soon.

Thank you everyone.

I am going to the docs tomorrow, spoke to her on the phone and she wants to check my breathing as she thought I sounded a bit chesty.
I feel really miserable and pathetic. I had a cool shower about an hour ago and started crying when I saw myself in the mirror, I am absolutely smothered in them. My face is covered! I am hideous, ill and uncomfortable.
