I'd seek medical advice for this. Can't see that being size 18 would cause it (size 28 maybe).

puff · 13/10/2005 09:44

trace, were your feet swollen like this the last time you saw your gp?

If it were me, I'd be ringing to get an appointment asap, just so you can be checked over.

nailpolish · 13/10/2005 09:47

Good, glad you will see a doctor today .

Joanie · 13/10/2005 12:33

Glad you are seeing GP. I have thought twice about posting this as it may alarm you, but it is v important - PLEASE, PLEASE make sure you tell him about wheezing at night. Fluid retention caused by heart problems tends to collect around ankles (due to gravity) during the day. At night the fluid rests on the lungs and causes wheeziness and crackling. Tiredness, although it can be caused by a lot of things is also a symptom. You MUST mention this to the GP. Do not be shy about mentioning the wheeziness at night, it is v important.

I hope that he takes this seriously and has you checked out properly. Please let us know what happens, we'll be here to offer whatever support we can.

I'm sorry if this worries you, but it is imp that you GP treats this seriously.

Wishing you all the best for later.

trace2 · 13/10/2005 18:01

hi just let everyone know what gp says,

checked bp ( fine)
checked heart lungs ( both ok )

so she said its probely my weight, so told her about wheezing she again says my weight, wind geting stuck in my throat told her about sickness ( just a bug) then told her about tiedness ( its todays lifestyle) so will just have to wait and see what happens

nailpolish · 13/10/2005 18:06

hmm

did you get a blood test and a urine test?

are you happy with what the gp said

misdee · 13/10/2005 18:09

not happy with that myself. joanie's dh and my dh have(had) the same condition. can u ask for a chest x-ray? dont be fobbed off.

trace2 · 13/10/2005 18:10

no she said no need, and no not really, but she knows best

OP posts:
misdee · 13/10/2005 18:14

no they dont. want to tell u a story. my dh is ill, he calls the gp out as he is feeling really rough. she says 'oh its your asthma, do you have asthma?' i mean WTF?? he gives him serevent perscription, but before he gets it, he gets even worse. so off to a and e, where they diagnosed him with DCM. his pulse was at over 200bpm, how the gop missed that i dont know. the inhalor she perscribed probably would've killed him as it increases heart rate.

so if you are not happy, ask for a 2nd opinion.

trace2 · 13/10/2005 18:14

noddyholder · 13/10/2005 18:20

Go back and ask for a urine test and blood test It could be cadiac or renal both of which can be treated easier the sooner they are spotted. My sister is a size 18 and fit as a fiddle so don't just accept that until you have been thoroughly checked
