Stopped pill - no period?

I stopped taking the pill about 2 months ago but have still not had a period (definatley not pregnant!). When i've stopped in the past i've had a period within 2-3 weeks.

I'm wondering why? I'm 40 - can't be early menopause can it? Also not sure if connected but i'm finding it impossible to lose a few extra pounds which in the past i've found quite easy to do.

Any ideas?

If you are definitely not pregnant, then I would say it is probably normal, just taking longer this time to get back to normal, but make an appointment with gp just to check. I think it is unlikely to be early menopause without you experiencing other symptoms, but then I have no experience of that as women in my family go into menopause in their late 50's.......so long away, so long away.......
