Hi,

I've been having problems with my back for a while, particularly in the Thoracic spine area and around the Rhomboids. I had a MRI recently and the Doctor said I had a Cyst on my Spine, but didn't think it was the cause of my pain, as it wasn't in the same area.

I was then referred to a Physio who said the Cyst was on my Lumbar Spine, however the letter I received say's it's at T2, so Vertebrae 2 on the Thoracic Spine, My pain is located between T5 & T7 (Letter also say's it's a "Neurogenic Cyst",) but I don't think that's correct. OH say's it's actually "Neurenteric".

Anyway, I can't find much info in Laymans terms about this Cyst, does anyone know anything about this type of Cyst and if it would require further investigation?

Thanks

I was diagnosed with a Neurenteric Cyst @ T1. I know from talking with my Neurosurgeon that they are very rare and are usually found with vertebra anomalies, in my case I have fused vertebra & a Syrinx as well. A Syrinx is a cyst in the center of the spinal cord.

Surgery is the treatment of choice but can be difficult and risky and there is a high risk of regrowth if it is not cleanly and completely removed.
