Does anyone else suffer with this and if so, what have you done to get rid of it?

I've been like this since a hysterectomy about 5 years ago and frankly, it's putting me off starting a new relationship for fear of passing it on.

I've tried all the usual stuff - canestan and one dose tablets but is always comes back!

I sympathise. i have suffered from thrush all my adult life on and off. It was worse when I took the contraceptive pill and I have tried canestan and all the similar treatments available. They clear the problem up but it returns within weeks.
Recently I have tried using Rephresh, Biofem and another brand of gel alternately. These products are expensive and are only sold in some chemists but they do seem to help. I use them as a preventative treatment and you insert them using a plastic inserter in which the gel is contained.
I have tried to cut down on sugar but my love of cigarettes and alcohol is probably a contributor. I think sex is a trigger as is being run down. Since I had a contraceptive coil fitted I started getting thrush and Bacterial vaginosis. It is most problematic. I find doctors are not very helpful.

Try Caprylic Acid supplements and a decent probiotic supplement.

Also, look up candida diet on the 'net. It will describe all the foods/drinks that you need to avoid. I know that you need to avoid sugar and fruit.

You need a zinc supplement to improve your immunity, my ds had fungal infections fo ryears that flared up every time we stopped antifungals, then we discovered he was badly deficient in Zn. When we added Zn, fungal infection has disappeared on its own.
Less (or no) sugar and caprylic acid are apparently OK, tho maybe slower acting, but Zn was like magic, I was amazed.
