Periods after DD2.

I'm 10 weeks PP with DD2. My lochia stopped at 3 weeks PP and at 5 weeks PP I had a normal period. It was a little on the heavy side but it lasted for five days and went away.

I'm now on day 31 of my cycle. My periods before DD2 were every 28-29 days. We haven't had unprotected sex (no hormonal contraception, we're using condoms) and I've been spotting brown and pinkish red for four days. Not enough to fill a pantyliner but still there.

I'm planning to make an appointment with my GP tomorrow morning but I don't know how much advice he can give. If nothing has been said or done I may go back on the combined pill to regulate my periods.

Does anyone have any experience/advice? Can my periods suddenly change in cycle length and duration after a second child?

I went back to my GP soon after having DD2 because i was having a 7 day period every 2 weeks!! He said to expect the chaos with my cycle for up to a year after giving birth...i am now a year on and my periods have settled down. They now last 7-8 days but normal time between. Maybe you just need to give it time. Annoying though i know.
