i feel so ashamed. she has loads of the little critters running about her head. i have got some lyclear to do her hair tomorrow afternoon after pre-school. i know i should do it before pre-school, but she'll just get re-infected, and after tomorrow she has 2 weeks till her next session. i'll phone the pre-school tomorrow afternoon to let them know i have 'found' them.

i only checked her hair about 2 weeks ago and she was clear. even dd3, who is 7months has to be treated, as well as dd1 and me. feel all yukky thinking about it.

lyclear is just a 10min treatment, might do that 1st thing. then get dd3 and me done in the afternoon, dd1 afterschool. (havent found any on dd1, but she has been itching a bit, its hard knwoing if its eczema with her or headlice)

It will keep until tomorrow evening, when she has the energy.

Blandmum · 11/10/2005 22:12

No, I do realise, but misdee was asking for options and came up with the same one herself....we cross posted. And as I posted I realise this is the last thing she needs atm

waterfalls · 11/10/2005 22:13

lyclear, lyclear is not needed, it is rubbish and a waste of money, it's the combing that is effective.

Blandmum · 11/10/2005 22:13

Have a quick look over her ears and at the nape of the neck....that is where dd gets hers

waterfalls · 11/10/2005 22:13

oops, first word was meant to be 'agree'

LadySherlockofLGJ · 11/10/2005 22:14

OK

These Halloween/posh name changes can be very confusing.

Apologies.

rummum · 11/10/2005 22:14

misdee · 11/10/2005 22:14

Yes I thought so too. Her MB's was really good!

Blu · 11/10/2005 22:15

Oh Blimey, Misdee, this is all you need on your plate, isn't it? Bad luck! Don't fret - have another quick go with the comb if you can before you leave for pre-school in the morning to catch any you missed tonight, and don't fret!

Blandmum · 11/10/2005 22:16

The world isn't going to stop spinning over a few nits, misdee. Your idea of combing tomorrow is all that is needed. But if it can't be done it cant.

Blossomhill · 11/10/2005 22:16

Misdee - of course you have been looking after your girls

Nits are the bane of all of our lives from time to time and it's not until they are big that you can tell.

I just would love to know what the purpose of nits is otehr than to drive us mums insane!

LadySherlockofLGJ · 11/10/2005 22:17

Ok

But I was just being defensive for Misdee, as I felt it would keep until tomorrow evening.

Again apologies.

misdee · 11/10/2005 22:17

i cant belive i am so upset over some s*dding headlice. at least she hasnt got worms.

waterfalls · 11/10/2005 22:18

Are you sure? have you checked?

rummum · 11/10/2005 22:18

now... do your self a favour and don't go checking

misdee · 11/10/2005 22:18

oh i have seen her poos' in the potty lately. no sign of life on them.

Aero · 11/10/2005 22:19

agree mb. I had this with dd last year no less than five times and no longer buy any lotions. The combing and regular inspection, (I check dd weekly now by just combing through with the nit comb after a hair wash) after you've got rid is the way forward. I do realise though that you have a huge pile on your plate misdee, but I think you'll feel better too knowing she can't pass it on at pre-school if you remove the big ones.

Blandmum · 11/10/2005 22:19

Oh shit, we have all had them in our house, they were bloody repulsive! far worse than nits. A turd that waves at you

I'm HMB BTW

JoolsToo · 11/10/2005 22:19

I just can't come to grips with your name martian!

Blu · 11/10/2005 22:20

misdee - yes, you are looking after your babies, and very well too. Don't beat yourself up about it!

rummum · 11/10/2005 22:20

HMB???

moondog · 11/10/2005 22:20

Misdee,it does not reflect on your parenting (remember who is going on the plinth next).
Yes,send her off with them, frankly you have far more important things to worry about than a few harmless critters.

Lay off misdee you lot or I'll swing for ya!!
