Hi - I have to say from the outset that I'm not especially good at suffering and am a v pathetic patient, but..

Over the last 5/6 weeks I have had a series of annoying illnesses and when one clears up another things begins Sad

Started with a tickly, non productive cough.
Then runny nose/cold.
Then developed a sore throat.
When sore throat went, the cough came back but this time a chesty cough.
Then started getting a very dizzy head.
After that exhaustion set in - I would come home from work and just sleep.
Next delight was a crazy rash on scalp, elbows and underneath breast.
AND today I was lying in bed before I got up feeling a bit ill, got up and realised I had the worst cast of diarrhea {sp} that I have ever had - running out of me like water - yuk Sad
Vomiting started after runs cleared up and now I am l am wondering what I can do to alleviate headache?

I haven't been able to eat or drink today - dh is working late and no one around as family live 2 hours drive away.

The poor dog needed out earlier and I had to crawl on my hands and knees to the door to open it.

I just feel incredibly sorry for myself and really ill.

I am a teacher so I dragged myself in today and had to leave again - I have a potentially difficult meeting with a parent tomorrow so am worried that I won't make that.

Also worried what HT will think about me taking time off as I am trying really hard to make a good impression and secure a permanent contract.

Sorry this is so long and rambling - please help if you can.

I'm not sure what is wrong but sounds like you could have started with a case of the flu and finished it off with norovirus.

I do have to say though, that if you were my childs teacher I would be pretty annoyed that you came into work while ill. I know that sounds harsh, and the kids probably gave it to you, but you should have been off for 48 hours after a stomach upset like that.

Sounds grim. Have you seen a doctor yet? Just asking as DH has been pretty ill since before Christmas with fairly similar symptoms. Doctor said to him she thinks it's a virus and he is suffering the after affects. He's got blood tests lined up for Friday. He also had to keep leaving work early (unheard of from him!).

Hope you feel better soon, if not get thee to the doctors. Smile

Thanks for the replies-I know I shouldn't have went in today but we sort of have a no absence culture-so taking time off is really frowned on:-(

Hopefully I will get better soon.

If I went to doctor for blood test-what would that achieve? Sorry don't really know as rarely go to doctor.

Dr decided to do blood tests to rule out things like anemia, diabetes, thyroid, etc.

Hope you are feeling better.
