CA 125 test - really worried

I've had a couple of scans due to abdoninal pain and was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst and a couple of fybroids. The last scan was inconclusive as for some reason they couldn't see anything.

I've just had the results of a CA125 test and the reading is 79 so I am really worried as my GP says this is abnormal and shows there is a cyst/tumour but he can't tell me any more. I am due to see a gynaecologist on Monday but I am now really worried it is something more.

Does anyone know if this reading is very high? - it should be below 30 so it's more than double!

Not sure what to tell you, except I have multiple fibroids and some abdominal pain and all of my doctors over the years have told me that they will NOT give me a CA125 test because it WILL come back abnormal because of the fibroids. Not hugely helpful, but at least you know that there is a window for it to be something other than what you're fearing most. big hugs. (and let us know how it goes, if you can.) xx
