Pain from broken toe

How long does a broken toe take to heal? My DD broke her middle toe about two years ago, it more or less healed up - she can walk on it OK - but she says it is very painful if her feet get cold.

Has anyone had this? Is it usual? and will it eventually be pain free. Or are there any suggestions as to what she can do to stop it hurting so much?

Ouch, feel her pain. Mine hurt for ages after and even now toes can ache and feel arthritic. Took to wearing doc martins sometimes so they didn't feel pinched and protected if anyone stood on my foot.

She needs toe-capped Uggs Grin

oh i feel her pain sooo much.

broke my big toe a couple of months ago (you may remember my hourly updates on my pain on here)

it doesn't hurt most of the time now but after a long day at work it aches and if i scrunch it up hard it hurts. and when my feet get cold it hurts. i am very protective of it. thank goodness my ballet days are over or my caeer wold be up the swanee.

I'm guessing toes are prone to arthritis then if you break them? Maybe rubbing one of those achy joint creams in would help.

Keeping feet warm is the key for me and wearing nothing too pinched at the toes.

Thanks for the advice - I'll make sure she knows she's got to keep her feet warm (she's at uni in Sheffield so lots of snow and cold!)Smile
