Treatments for Molluscum contagiosum

My dd has developed MC over the past 5/6 weeks. At the moment there is a large cluster under her left arm with the odd few dotted around her tummy. A couple of the ones under her arm are fairly large the rest like small pimples. I have been looking through treatments on the internet and there are loads so havent a clue where to start.

The doctor we seen told us just to leave or if possible try to squeeze. Did try to squeeze but DD was far too upset by this.

Any suggestions as I don't think I can wait over a year or so for them to disappear. Also she currenty has a wee pimple thing under her bottom lip which I am petrified is another MC.

Surely something out there must work.

My GP told me the treatment was worse than the disease, hence they don't bother to treat children.

DD1 had them for about 9 months, all down her arms and on her torso.

I picked some of the larger ones that were bothering her, especially a couple that were being rubbed by clothing; I couldn't believe the massive white things that popped out.

They cleared up eventually by themselves, and left no scars. None of the rest of the family caught them.

Boots Tea Tree Oil antiseptic cream worked a treat for ds.

There is so much information about molluscum and so many conflicting "cures". For what it is worth I recommend you have a look at what I think is the best site for information and a guide to treating the bumps. Three of my children had MC and we had to find a cure that was good for very young children. It seems to me that the best cure combines the good work of apple cider vinegar other natural products like clove oil and tree oil. Anyway, it work wonders for us!
