Hi, i have beeen diagnosed with a uterine prolapse, rectocele and cystocele. I have been given an appointment to see a continence nurse(have had to wait 8 weeks for this...so not happy)and am beginning to wonder how much longer i will have to wait to see gynaecologist. So i'm thinking about going private and would like to ask if anyone else has chosen the private option and if so would you mind if i asked how much you were charged for your operation.

There is a big thread on this which I think has costs.

Mine was private in October- paid for by insurance . The initial consultation was £150. If you chose one who also does nhs you can swap across after this.

The op and anaesthetist about £1100. Theatre costs as well. 2 nights in nuffield hospital- I have had a few problems-4 other consultant appointments. A few private prescriptions. I estimate 2.5-3k in all. It is sometimes cheaper if you are paying yourself than by insurance.

That was in the north. I can find the exact cost if you want to know exactly.
