Keeping your child from nursery?

Has anyone decided to keep their child off nursery until the flu situation calms down? If so what have you told the nursery and how long do you expect to keep them at home for?

Are you buying some bubble wrap at the same time?

Unless there has been a massive outbreak at the nursey I really don't see what is to be gained by doing that?
