For the past week, I have been incredibly itchy and I don't know why! It started out as my head and face. I don't have dandruff, I don't have nits, I don't even have a rash. Now it's spread to my neck and the backs of my shoulders where it's becoming unbearable. I also get really itchy eyes too at night that I can't stop rubbing.

I have no idea what is causing and have tried keeping my hair up every day to see if it solved the neck/shoulder itching but it hasn't. I wash my hair every day so I left it for a day to see if that helped but it just made the itching worse.

Any suggestions please? :(

My hairdresser recommended a mild shampoo instead of the too-strong one I had been using. The unperfumed shampoo called Simple is OK I think. My itchy scalp has sorted itself out now.

Go and see your GP. Its probably some sort of allergy, but there are other conditions that cause that sort of intense itching - worth checking out.

Itching is horrible - I had it badly with my second pregnancy - I feel for you! Have you tried taking Piriton?

There is a cream to stop itching - think it's called Eurax - ask pharmacy, it works really well. Apply it every 4 hours or so.

Would also get checked out by GP.

Thanks for the advice everyone :). Insides and outsides of both my ears are itchy too now so have made a doctor's appointment.

Weird thing I've noticed though, my hair does not seem to be getting greasy at all now, it's still fresh the next day whereas before I would definitely have to wash it. Don't know what that means! Hmm
