Sore throat tips?

I can't remember ever having a sore throat like this before. It's so painful and paracetamol/ ibuprofen don't seem to be helping much. Any tips on getting through it? Poorly DD (17mo) as well. Can't really think straight

Gargling with soluable aspirin will reduce inflamation.

Can I take that alongside what else I've been taking? Thanks

Oraldene antiseptic mouthwash and as has been said, gargle with soluble aspirin. Hot honey and lemon also helps. Dequacain lozenge if you can get to a chemist.

A sore throat veteran so I hope you get well v soon! It's very grim.

I used to take alongside, you don't swallow it it's just like a local anaesthetic..but that's me. Not sure if I should have done or not, really but I'm still here!

Damn, thought I had soluble aspirin but don't. Oh dear. Thanks anyway.

A mug of warm water and a quarter tsp of salt will help a bit, too. But don't swallow that!

Clorisceptic (sp) its a throat spray (small flat bottle with a green lid, might be by Vicks?)

you can get from the chemist, numbs the throat brilliantly & antibacterial too...I often get sore throats & swear by it for the bad ones
