Periods: should I worry re cycle?

I have PCOS but since the birth of both my children I have lost lots of weight and despite breastfeeding, my periods have been amazingly regular. Pre DC they were anything but!

I have recently been prescribed meds for heavy periods and these have helped but last night I was thrown by some unexpected bleeding approximately 20 days into my cycle.

I don't know if I should seek advice about this. Any thoughts? I am 35.

My youngest is 20 months and the weight loss has been through v regular exercise. I'm now at the heavy end of normal weight.

Thinking on it, it is much less than 20 days, more like 15. I wonder if it is ovulation bleeding as it only lasted less than a day?

Any bleeding between periods should be investigated further to ascertain the cause.

If you have not already seen a gynae you should be referred to such a person by the GP. Also such problems are often outside the GPs remit and some GPs do have a lot of ignorance re such problems.

Fibroids can cause heavy bleeding. Its all very well treating the symptoms at the time but the CAUSE of the heavy periods needs to be investigated properly.

If you have PCOS as well
