My mum has glaucoma and thyriod problems.
At the moment she is wandering round all day moaning that shes got hideous headaches.
They come and they go.
Sometimes her eyes look bloody awful and again shes always moaning about them.
She wont sit down and is always rushing about but moaning that her back hurts(she has back trouble too) so I suggest sitting dont but she says No No..and carrys on running herself into the grave.
Shes getting on my nerves with all the moaning and the seeming to do nothing about it but im wondering whether an adjustment of her tablets/eyedrops could turn her back into a person that can do something other than moan about her ailments. It really is taking over her life and everydays the same. Surely if the pills were working it wouldnt be a 24/7 problem?

Awww trefusis your mum sounds lovely I think my mum is lovely under all this moaning....
She arranges doctors appointment but is fine by the time they come and her doctor is really really useless.
I suspect her dosage of pills isnt right, the running around I think is an attempt at keeping herslef busy but its just making her ill and because its making her ill shes then moaning more and its a vicious circle she just needs to stop and rest for a bit but stubbornly she wont.

if she has thyroid problems she should be taking thyroxine at the prescribed dosage and this should make her feel better (from those related symptoms anyway). How long has she had the thyroid problems and how long taking the medication - it can take a while to kick in?

Thank You guys, just ranting about it here helped...
She was overdosing on 3 tablets of thyroxine a day 4 times now the doctor has said We will fix that next time, I have persuaded her to take 1 pill for the past couple of days and I asked her if she was less tired and she said YES...so thats one thing sorted...
Dont know whether its over or underactive im afrain, im thinking over by your description, she asked to see a different doctor the other day and they wouldnt let her, she asked for an appointment that day, no, well a few days I dont mind waiting...no ring at 8.30am and we will see if we can fit you in...so she of course hasnt...ARRRRGGHHHHHH.
