just wondered if anyone out there has fibro and if they find it to be worse in the winter.

i hate this illness and it has got me down lately. i am constantly having to turn down nights out etc as i am too ill.

how do you get your life back when fibro has you in its grip?

Hi! i've been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia for 3yrs now, had it 9yr now however. I was also diagnosed with the neurological condition functional weakness, which is common alongside FM?
I am the same as you, winters are hell for me, i seem to hurt all over, i am quite disabled with it already, (walk with sticks) etc, but winter is a nightmare, im tired all the time, and in pain.
I haven;t found a successful way to get my life back fully when im in its severe grip, all i can say is, that when im like this, i try to think (ok the pain is at its worse but this is it, im going to get up/out and try and do something) even if i can only manage getting a shower, and getting some washing on its something!!

Another one here too, since 2003 & M.E DX . added to that in 2005, etc etc etc [rollseyes]

& yes Winters can be a pig for me too, especially damp weather, & build up to storms, apparently we are very susceptible to barometric pressure Hmm

hard I know, but try not to let it get you down, that damned fibro monster feeds on over doing it, stress & misery & will just bite you harder as a result.....thats what I keep telling myself anywayConfused though that said, I still struggle, but am much better than I have been in the beginning, so it can improve
