My insides are trying to get out any way they can...

So, just got diagnosed today - I have an umbilical hernia. On top of having a rectocele prolapse - I feel as if my insides are trying to escape my body through any opening they can find! Wink

Luckily not in any pain, it's just bl**dy annoying.

I did suggest to my lovely GP that I could do with just removing the middle part of my body and replacing the lot - she said it doesn't need replacing it just needs "rearranging"!! Grin Grin It does mean some pretty major surgery tho' - I will have to speak to a specialist now to see if there is any way I can have both things put right in just one op.

Anyone else had/got any experience of this or similar? Is one op a possibility, or would I definitely have to have two procedures? [grimace emoticon]

Oh, forgot to mention, I have a 6 mth old DS, so am also concerned about not being able to pick him up after any surgery. Should I consider putting off any surgery until he is bigger and more mobile - ie, can climb up on my lap for cuddles himself etc?
