DH has found a lump

Dh has told me that he found a small lump 'down below' whilst examining himself. I have felt it too. It isn't very big, probably smaller than a pea but I think he's a lot more worried than he's letting on. He's going to see the GP tomorrow but I just wondered if anybody had any advice/ experience. I think he's a bit worried about what they'll do.
Note all the 'I think he...' Typical male won't admit his feelings

I have no experience and only know that it's good that you're off to the gp tomorrow.

Good luck, hope it goes well!

Hi Hayls, my husband found the same thing a couple of months ago. He was quite chilled, I was worried sick. Thankfully he saw the Doc straight away who immediately said it was probably an infection caused by an ingrowing hair or something similar (yeuckk!!).

He just kept an eye on it and it went away after a short while. I'm sure your husband's is something similar.

Apparently they are very common and heaven forbid it is something else, the good news is it is very treatable, so easier said than done, but try not to worry too much.

My DH has been to docs twice about lumps "down below". Both times, doc said it was swollen tubes (think he was a bit run down at the time). My DH wouldn't talk about it at all, very quiet. But I do know that the docs just examined them and was confident.

Its good your DH is going to docs right away. Must admit had to push mine. My brother has just had a testicle removed as it was cancerous (dont want to scare you) so the earlier they do go, the better.

My DH found a lump a few weeks back, he went to the Dr quickly, was referred to the hospital and given a scan, and it was found to be something similar to a varicous (sp?) vein, might need an op in the future, it might go away by itself.

Get him to go quickly, it will probably be nothing but best to be on the safe side.

Dh says he only found it the day before he told me but he's been a bit crotchety for a couple of weeks so I suspect it was longer than that.
Glad to hear the positive stories, thanks. Hopefully tomorrow will go ok.

My DH has also had this - varicose vein which was removed.

Gp had a look and said dh has to go back in 2 weeks if it has got bigger or changed shape. DOn't think dh is reassured at all- he said GP was dripping with sweat because of his flu and wanted rid of him! He didn't give him any ideas of what it could be so we're none the wiser really.
Fingers crossed it's all ok.

If he's not reassured, he should perhaps go for a 2nd opinion - I know plenty of people who don't trust their GP's 100%, it's peace of mind that counts.
