Stitches are bleeding......

Sorry if TMI, but i had stitches 8days ago, been keeping them really clean etc, but they bleed whenever i need the toilet!! It seems to come out pritty fast, but always stops within 10minutes of it starting. They dont bleed continusly, and i questioned my midwife who didnt seem concerned, but she never checked them either! Can they tear? Or is it normal? I had stitches with my DS 19months ago, and cant remember any sort of bleeding with them!!!
Thanks

Are you sure it's the stitches that are bleeding and not just general postpartum bleeding - I had stitches with dd 3 years ago noe and don't know how I would have been able to distinguish bleeding stitches from general bleeding.

I didn't have bleeding after having my stitches done when i had my dd1 and believe you/me I had loads - get your midwife round to have a check !!!!

Its deffinately from the stitches area, as once it starts to bleed it seems to run out, hence if it was a general bleed, this would be dangerous!! My bleed has really calmed down, and is only very slight now anyway!!

I'll ask my midwife to check them for me!!
