how long do you have to wait to put in a coil after a c section?

My baby is nearly 7 weeks old.. I asked my GP but she was not sure.. Anyone has had a coil after a c section?

About three months. That's how long I was told to wait.

It should be 12 weeks - some people will put them in from 6, but they are more likely to fall out.

Oh, and it's a myth you need to wait for your first period if you abstain.
