I had a tooth taken out on Tuesday as it had an infection in the root - also, because in my gum above the tooth (which is now gone) is my wisdom tooth which my dentist is pretty sure will take the place of the tooth in a few months so he advised extraction rather than root canal and then later a crown.
I was still in quite alot of pain on Friday so I phoned my dentist who said I should start taking a course of antibiotics. I took the first on Friday evening. I'm still in constant pain now (particularly alot of pressure/pain across the top of my cheekbone, as though I have a sinus infection and it hurts when I smile (FGS!). I'm taking pain killers every 4hrs. I can't bite down on the side of the extraction without getting shooting pains. Do I need to wait a bit longer for the antibiotics to start working?
