Swine flu or just a cold?

Sorry, i bet there are a lot of threads like this Grin.

Durring the week dh was ill, spent a couple days in bed with high temp, soar throat and aching joints.

2 days ago dd1 started moaning of aching joints at this morning woke me at 3am with aching joints, tummy ache, head ache and very high temp, i dossed her up with calpol and nuforen and her temp went down but after a few hours it was back up again to 38-39.0c, i have just out her to bed and she's complaining of a bad head ache (even after calpol and nurofen).

I have felt a bit achy for a couple days, slight cough but nothing too bad (yet) and so far dd2 seems fine.

Could it be swine flu?

Quite a few of the parents at school seem to have it or have had it over x-mas.

Yes. Doesn't really matter what it is, treat it as if it is flu, fluids, meds to keep temps down, rest, rest and more rest and then disinfect everything to prevent passing it on. And stay indoors for five days.

Thanks, dd2 has a hospital appointment on monday (we have been waiting for 2 years), if she doesn't come down with it and i feel ok should i still take her? or not risk it?

How long have you felt crappy for. You may have a very mild version and if you are on day five or so, you can probably go. If you've felt bad since Wednesday, Monday will be day six.

I have felt crappy for 3-4 days, fingers crossed this is it and it doesn't get worse (i'm not good with illness).
