I think many doctors recommend waiting until after 12 weeks. I'm sure you'll be fine! By the time you get to 12 weeks flu season should be pretty much over. Congratulations btw! :)

Well im 5 weeks pregnant and my doc told me on fri that it should be done before 12 weeks and the seasonal flu jab after 12 weeks, so what to do?

Had mine at 5 weeks. GP got me in ASAP after I went to see them to notify of pregnancy. Now 8 weeks and glad I didn't wait. Am worried about both my unborn child and DD aged 28 months. We had her vaccinated privately, although we didn't bother last year as we were waiting for NHS appointment, which only came through once flu season was over.

Think there was a mum/baby swine flu death at local hospital last year, so they are very alert to it in this area.

Am also slightly asthmatic, so have had flu jabs before with no side effects. Asthma runs in our family, so am concerned for baby and DD on these grounds too.

My jab was an all-in-one BTW.

the official line at pregnant women shold have it as soon as possible, if you wait till after 12 week you will be out of flu season anyway.

Yes the advice is to have the current seasonal flu jab at any time of pregnancy.

I hope I have done the right thing having it this early, I'm worried it will affect brain development or something. To late now I quess, I can't win really cause I would only worry if I didn't have it done.
