Swine flu jab.

A friend works at the local hospital and says swine flu is rife, and recommended I get the kids jabbed.

Phoned the GP this morning. They don't do it for kids. They gave me a number to call and I spoke to someone to do with immunisation who said that my best bet was to contact the pharmacy but that I may have to pay. Fine.

Contacted the pharmacy. They're not jabbing children either!

Where the hell next??

A private gp? Good luck!

it's frustrating, isn't it? We were just abroad where children are immunised against swine flu for free - we were going to do it as it would have been minimal cost (pick up the medicine at the pharmacy and go to a nurse to administer it) but they give children under 10 2 jabs 3 weeks apart so we couldn't do it.

anyone know where I can get dc the swine flu jab?

JossAcklandsSpunkyBackpack · 05/01/2011 09:58

As far as I know, they aren't jabbing kids over 5 unless they've got underlying health problems. It was on the radio this morning.

I already asked my gp, and they are not allowed to give to kids this year, even my ds with his health problems. Only people falling into main groups like those with asthma, so I get one but not my dc. Sad

I'm going to either ASDA or Boots tomorrow to try and get it done. I wondered if they won't administer it to kids can you not buy it and take it to the nurse at the GP and she can administer it for you?

It seems kids are hit the worst but no one will inject them, it's crazy. My DH can get it as he has asthma but he refuses to go for it, sigh!
