I tore quite badly when I had DD 16 months and its still sore to have intercourse.

I dont know if I should go to the Gp and get them to take a look, ive taken a peek myself and it all seems to look different to before.

Do go to the GP. Really - it shouldn't still be painful after all this time. The GP should be able to refer you to a gynae.
My stitches were done too tight when dd was born, which was picked up by myself and dh and the GP agreed. So I ended up having an episiotomy when dd was 8 months old, and being restitched. Meant that was able to have and enjoyintercourse and now have ds born 3 weeks ago!
I think it's not all that uncommon - my friend is due in 3 weeks time, but saw her gp recently about pain in intercourse and so the plan is she will have an episiotomy during her labour and will be restitched then. God knows how she managed to get pregnant - she's obviously got a higher pain threshold than me!
Good luck.
