My Mouth

I've been ill for about 3 weeks with the flu. Now I'm at the tail end of it, I have a really sore patch on the roof of my mouth next to my back molar (maybe wisdom tooth??). Is this what an abcess feels like? It's puffy, incredibly sensitive and I'm terrified to go to the dentist anyway, let alone if I need to be punctured. I had one when I was bout 11 and I can't remember what it felt like, but I do remember having it lanced was horrific. What can I do that ISN'T go to a dentist?

Is it worth trying clove oil? (Not if you're preggers or breastfeeding if I recall correctly :))

It sounds like an abcess, sorry. A dentist won't touch it though, just give you some antibiotics. You may have to have the wisdom tooth pulled if this happens again though. Give the dentist a ring and get an emergency appointment. I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for the advice. The dentist will see me on the 6th January. Seems like quite a long time to stress about it..... Sad

Blimey. Did you tell them it was an emergency?

Unfortunately, it has grown worse all day and my whole jaw is swelling Sad.
They have made a space for me tomorrow, but it's with the mean dentist [sob] as the nice one is on leave. My mum is coming with me Blush. I'm such a loser...

If anyone cares (doubt it...), it wasn't an abcess. It was a throat infection that travelled up into my jaw Shock
