I had toothache, well major jaw, face ache and swelling of half my face a couple of weeks ago, had antibiotics for a few days, and the dentist drilled out a filling and put temporary dressing on.
couple of days later the gum underneath that tooth swelled into a big lump, slightly red, quite hard and sore.
It is now getting smaller but I still feel not quite right and biting on the tooth still hurts, my jaw (possibly glands?) beneath also feel swollen adn sore.
Not sure if this is normal or if there is still something infected?

Did the dentist take an x-ray? Sounds like an abcess. The fact that biting on the tooth is tender may be some residual infection in the root canals. I would go try an get an appointment as soon as you can. if the infection is still there may be more anti-biotics first then root canal treatment.

Yes,the dentist took an x-ray, but I haven't had the report,(computer wasn't working to view it).
Thank you for your reply.
