Does anyone know? really know, not just a guess?

Dh went down with it Thursday gone. Has been sleeping separately, and in bed until yesterday pm as he felt awful. I am being very careful about contamination- he is not allowed in kitchen, has own towels, and I am washing hands after touching anything.
also disinfecting things like door handles, light pulls, and toilet flushes.

Official NHS advice on this question here. See the section called "the infectious period".
