Advice on Tourette Syndrome

My son is 7 now, since he was about 6 we started noticing him doing unusual actions with his body. After some research we realised its Tics. We also found out that there has been this type of tics in my husbands family. Its not very bad - more impulsive body movements. I have researched that caffine products and diet high in salicylates can make tics worse. I would be grateful if anyone can advise me on what foods are best and any other useful help. Many thanks.

Hi Rose - no advice on Tourettes I'm afraid, but as you mentioned your DSes reactions to salicylates, I wondered if you had looked into Sue Dengate at all. Link here We spent some time following her diet with DS, but came to realise that it was his anti epilepsy medication which was really causing all the problems. I teach two boys with Tourettes and know both of them follow quite stict diets with regards to additives and also gluten.
